Brief
Trust at first sight.
The office had a WordPress website. It was time for a new version: more refined visually, simpler to maintain and with a fuller picture of the lawyer’s experience.
People usually come to a legal counsel with a specific and often stressful matter. The site has to answer three questions quickly: what this person helps with, where the experience comes from and how to get in touch. No loud slogans, because a profession of public trust calls for a calm, factual tone.
Scope
What was done
Design
Navy and gold, the Cormorant Garamond serif for headings and the readable Manrope for text. The mark from the office logo returns as a subtle background motif. The whole site is calm and elegant, closer to an office than an advert.
Tone and content
Facts instead of slogans: practice areas, work for municipalities, publications and press columns. No promises and no advertising language, keeping in mind the rules legal counsels follow when informing about their practice.
Biography
A separate page about the lawyer: education, training and bar admission, practice areas, a publication on landscape law and a list of employment law columns with links to sources.
Contact and directions
Phone and email up front, the office address and a map styled in the site colours with a link to navigation. The map loads only on the contact page, so it does not slow down the rest.
Questions and answers
The most common questions about booking a consultation and the scope of help, with a clear note that this is general information and every case needs an individual assessment.
Built with Astro
Static HTML instead of WordPress, photos automatically prepared as WebP in several sizes and fonts served from the site’s own domain, without third-party services.
Consent
A cookie banner: analytics turns on only after consent, and the choice can be changed at any time.
Screens
Practice areas, experience and publications
Help described by area of law, work for municipalities with a list of them, expert activity and a biography that reads as comfortably on a phone as on a desktop.
