Pricing

How much does a business website cost?

The short answer: as much as your scope requires. Below are the starting prices of four packages, a comparison and the rules I use to quote.

Scopes

Four typical starting points

Most projects start from one of these scopes. Prices are starting prices, because the final figure depends on the scope, the number of pages and the features.

These are starting prices. The final price depends on the scope: the number of pages and different layouts, the state of your content, features (such as bookings, language versions, an editing panel or integrations) and the deadline. You get a specific figure before the project starts, with no surprises along the way.

Factors

What affects the price

Eight things that change a quote the most. The more of them you know before we talk, the sooner you get a specific figure.

Number of unique layouts

Five pages built from one template cost less than five pages that each have their own layout. What counts is the number of designs, not the number of URLs.

Content

Whether you have the copy and photos ready, or they need to be organised and written. This is often the biggest unknown in a project.

Redesign instead of a fresh start

Migrating a website that already ranks on Google needs a URL map, redirects and checks after launch. It is extra work that protects your traffic.

Integrations

Booking calendars, CRM, newsletters, payments. Every connection to an external system has to be designed and tested.

Language versions

Each language means its own copy, metadata and correct hreflang tags, not just translated buttons.

Interactions and motion

Simple transitions are included. Complex animations, configurators and calculators are priced separately.

Content editing

If your team will publish content themselves, a content editing panel and its setup are added.

Deadline

A project with a fixed date, such as a trade fair or campaign, means a different order of work and sometimes a higher price.

Always included

Foundations at no extra cost

  • Design for phone and desktop: every screen checked at both widths.
  • SEO foundations: titles, descriptions, canonicals, sitemap, robots.txt and structured data.
  • Performance: optimised images and fonts, minimal JavaScript, measured before launch.
  • Accessibility: contrast, keyboard navigation, clear forms and messages.
  • A contact form: with validation and an honest confirmation of whether the message arrived.
  • Google Search Console and GA4: the site verified in Search Console with the sitemap submitted, and a basic Google Analytics 4 setup that respects consent. In the company and redesign packages: an advanced GA4 setup with events and conversions, such as form submissions or phone clicks.
  • Handover: the code in a repository, access to services and a short guide.

After launch

Costs worth knowing about

  • Domain: an annual fee to the registrar. If you already have a domain, you keep it.
  • Hosting: a static website has modest requirements, so hosting is usually cheap and sometimes free.
  • External services: such as form email delivery, a booking calendar or a content editing panel. Many have free plans for low traffic.
  • Changes and growth: new pages, sections or campaigns, quoted separately when you need them.

Questions

Straight talk about price

How does a quote start?

With a short conversation or a few sentences in the contact form: what your company does, whether you have a website now and what should change. Based on that you get the scope, timeline and price.

What if I do not have the copy ready?

That is common. We organise the content together at the structure stage: we agree which client questions each page should answer, and the copy is written from that. It affects the scope, so we include it in the quote.

Does the price include the domain and hosting?

No. You pay for the domain and hosting directly to the providers, so they are registered in your name and you do not depend on me.

Is a website builder not cheaper?

At the start, usually yes. The difference shows later: in speed, in how the website looks next to competitors and in whether it brings enquiries. If you only need a simple business card site, a builder can be a sensible choice.

First step

A specific figure instead of a range.

Write a few sentences about your company and the website you need. You'll get questions back, or a scope with a quote.
